This session we continued the good work started last week when we began to clear around the magnificent old Horse Chestnut tree in the central bottom part of the arboretum.
Having cut back most of the brambles and saplings surrounding 'The Old Man', today was clearing away all the piles of brash that we had created previously.
There was a substantial amount - several trailers full.

The old Horse Chestnut really is stunning when the sunlight streams through its branches. Several visitors have already remarked on it's beauty.
