Pumpkin Head!

Having had two practice sessions building scarecrows, today we took the plunge and started our Halloween scarecrows for the arboretum.

We managed two completed scarecrows in the time we had. The handsome chap in the photo, who is located by the main gate, and his buddy, who can be found guarding the willow structure.

The finished scarecrow.

Otters in the Washbrook

The first five inspected and cleaned bird nest boxes were reassembled ready to remount on the trees.

After break we were treated to a private presentation of the one that took place in Knighton Parish Hall last week. This concerned the group of volunteers who have been monitoring otter activity in the washbrook.
